Dear Sila:

~

Item II.K 3.22 of, NUREG-0737 required the automatic switchover of l

[

the Reactor Core Isolation Cooling (RCIC) system suction from the con-densate tank to the torus.

P.eference letter 1 requested that the Authority verify that the acceptance criteria included with that letter have been satisfied.

We have compared these criteria to the system modification and find that it fully satisfies the stated criteria.

In Reference 2, the Authority stated that fully qualified level switches could not be obtained in time for the scheduled installation.

I7 We further stated that the modification would be completed using par-si, tji' ally qualified switches, with fully qualified units being installed

'suben ' they become available.

During our review of this modification

, and equipment qualification documentation, we have determined that the

)

currently installed switches fully comply with the criteria of Reference 1*
