CAUSE OF NONCOMPLIANCE:

The alum skid was shut down for no apparent reason. Wi thout the alum addi tion, improper floculation occurs, which results in poor treatment in the Wastewater Treatment Facility.

Thus, the effluent water quality exceeded the Permit limit.

CORRECTIVE NCTIO'N:

The alum skid was restarted, and later sampling and analysis was within the NPDES Permit limits.

Operating was also informed of the importance of proper Wastewater Treatment Facility operations, if future noncompliances of of this type are to be prevented.
