Dear Sir:

This report is submitted in accordance with LaSalle Unit 2 Operating License NPF-18, Technical Specification 4.6.2.1.d regarding Unit 2 Drywell to Suppression Chamber Floor Dypass Test.

On December 9,1993 with LaSalle Station Unit 2 in Cold Shutdown during Refuel Outage L2R05, the Drywell to Suppression Chamber Floor Ilypass Test was performed in accordance with Technical Surveillance LTS 30010, following the Primary Containment Integrated Leak Rate Test (ILRT). The Drywell Ilypass Test was performed satisfactorily as the results were well within the Technical Specification 3.6.2.1.b acceptance criteria of 10% of A/VK specified limit. Technical Specification 4.6.2.1.d states that if the bypass test results exceed 20% of the speciDed limit (10% of A/VK ), then the test schedule for subsequent tests shall be reviewed by the Commission. The bypass test results exceeded 20% of the specified limit (10% of A/VK ). The results yielded 24.85% of the specified limit. E.* cause of exceeding the 20%

criteria is believed to be test instrumentation openings from the Drywell to the Suppression Chamber for the installation of ILRT sensors. These openings were temporarily sealed with tape and duct seal material (putty) for test purposes. These penetrations are normally blind flanged. Special test flanges have been fabricated and are being stored for future use to prevent a reoccurrence of this nature.
