Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

ES 0FFICE OF INSPECTION AND ENFORCEMENT BULLETIN 80 RII:JPO 50-32'P AND 50-328 - SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT - REVISED RESPONSE

[

In g November 9,1981 letter to you regarding TVA's response to thE.

subject bulletin on Westinghouse Type W-2 Control Switches, we indicated that we anticipated completing corrective measures for our Sequoyah Nuclear Plant before startup following the first refueling outage for each respective unit. In discussions with the NRC (NRR and OIE) regarding the Integrated Modification Schedule (IMS) for Sequoyah, we indicated that following NRC approval of the IMS, revisions of previous responses for those deferred items would be necessary. We now expect to complete changeout of the W-2 switches for units 1 and 2 before startup after the unit 1 cycle 2 refueling outage. In the interim period, we are continuing to inspect the switches every 31 days, by special maintenance instruction, and af ter every operation of the switch.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with R. H. Shell at FTS 858-2688.

To the best of g knowledge, I declare the statements contained herein are complete and true.
