Dear Mr. Russell:
In the Reference 1 letter, Commonwealth Edison (CECO) requested the NRC
.to grant an amendment to Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-11 and NPF-18, Appendix A, Technical Specifications. The proposed change was submitted to clarify the testing requirements for the Charcoal Adsorber Beds and HEPA Filters of the Standby Gas Treatment (VG) and the Control Room (VC) Emergency Filtration System and Supply Filter Unit. Submittal of this amen <lment request fulfilled a commitment made in the Reference 2 letter.

Mr. W. T. Russell March 17,1994 The purpose of this letter is to inform you that a new amendment request ~
for LaSalle Units 1 and 2 will be submitted in September of 1994. When the new amendment request is submitted, the amendment request proposed in Reference 1 l
will be withdrawn. The new amendment request is being submitted so that LaSalle's filter testing program will be in accordance with the Improved Standard Technical Specifications (NUREG-1434). ' The Improved Standard Technical Specifications require that a filter testing program that is independent of the Technical Specifications be incorporated. The filter testing program will include clarified testing requirements and acceptance criteria as committed to in the Reference 2 letter.
