Dear Sir:
In the above referenced letter, PECO Energy Company submitted preliminary information regarding the evaluation of the Indications identified on the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS), Unit 3 core shroud. This issue was discussed with the NRC at a meeting on November 3,1993. At the meeting, questions were raised concoming the applicability of the quadrant screening criterion. PECO Energy agreed to revise the evaluation to clarify the significance of the quadrant screening criterion. This clarification is provided in the enclosed GENE-523-141-1093, Rev.1 report entitled, " Evaluation and Screening Criteria for the Peach Bottom Unit-3 Shroud Indications." Additionally, the basis for calculation of shroud crack growth rates at PBAPS has been included in the revised report.
