Dear Sir:
In the above referenced letter, PECO Energy Company submitted preliminary information regarding the evaluation of the Indications identified on the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS), Unit 3 core shroud. This issue was discussed with the NRC at a meeting on November 3,1993. At the meeting, questions were raised concoming the applicability of the '
quadrant screening criterion. PECO Energy agreed to revise the evaluation to clarify the significance of the quadrant screening criterion. This clarification is provided in the enclosed GENE-523-141-1093, Rev.1 report entitled, " Evaluation and Screening Criteria for the Peach Bottom Unit-3 Shroud Indications." Additionally, the basis for calculation of shroud crack growth rates at PBAPS has been included in the revised report.
