SUBJECT:

Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit 1 & 2 Docket Nos. 50-313 and 50-368 License Nos. DPR-51 and NPF-6 Response to Inspection Reports 50-313/82-15 and 50-368/82-12 Gentlemen:

Please refer to our response to you on this subject dated October 8, 1982, (0CAN108207).

In our response to Item 1, Failure to Electrically Supervise or Lock Fire Doors Between Redundant Safe Shutdown Equipment, we stated that specific fire door criteria were being developed and were scheduled to be complete by November 30, 1982.

At this writing, these criteria are still being prepared and are being given substantial review to ensure their accuracy and completeness.

Our revised schedule for completing this task is now approximately mid-February 1983.

l Since we have taken other necessary precautions to prevent recurrence of the stated violation (see our referencad response), we believe that the accuracy of our fire door criteria overrides any necessity for meeting the original November 30, 1982, schedule.

Please be assured, however, we are continuing our efforts to meet or exceed this new schedule.

Very truly yours, f
