James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant Summary Tabulation for Calendar Year 1977 Control Rods Failing to Fully Insert on Reactor Scrams Docket No. 50-333
Dear Sir:
In response to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's August 29,1978 letter to the Power Authority requesting a review of plant records for calendar year 1977, a summary tabulation of control rods failing to fully insert during reactor scram is enclosed. As stated in the tabulation, a report of the drives that were replaced dur-ing the current refueling outage was included in the FitzPatrick Monthly l
Report to the Commission for October 1978. An ongoing tabulation of any additional such events that may occur during calendar year 1978 will be maintained.

There was no apparent reason for the events.
The drives for rods 10-35, 14-23 and 34-15 have been replaced during the present refueling outage.
Details regarding their replacement were included in the FitzPatrick Monthly Report to the Commission for Cetober 1978.
Drives 18-15 and 10-15 are not scheduled to be replaced at this time.
