Ihis letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition reported under the requirements of 10CFR50.55(e).
Interim report, QA-1836, dated June 25, 1982, reported that a review of inspection records of electrical cable tray hangers on various elevations of the Auxiliary Building, revealed that inspections per-formed by some inspectors did not properly assess field welds for com-pliance with procedure requirements.
A Management Corrective Action Roquest was initiated for evalu-ation and assessment of electrical cable tray hanger inspections prev-iously performed. Evaluation and assessment of corrective action has been completed. Henry J. Kaiser Company (HJK), the principal constructor, will reinspect 100% of all accessible cable tray hanger field welds to the current requirements, except for those in the main control room, which will be inspected by CG6E to the current requirements. The rein-spection effort has been delayed due to clarified separation criteria given by Sargent & Lundy concerning electric separation. The reinspec-tion was expected to be completed by December 31, 1982, however, because of this delay, the reinspection is now expected to be completed by April 30, 1983, at which time a final report will be submitted.
