RE.iUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FILE: 0505.5 SERIAL: 6020 Your October 11, 1976 letter requested additional infornation necessary for review of the Midland Plant- Environmental Report - Operating License Stage.

Regarding certain questions on archeology and endangered species, Consumers Power Company provides the following general information:

Archeology, Question 1 An archeolo6 i cal investigation of the Tittabavassee River floodplain was initir.ted in October 1978. Results are expected to be available and provided to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in December 1978. No additional construc-tion activities vill be started in the floodplain until the investigation is complete.

Archeolocy, Question 9 A detailed plan for the =itigation or avoidance of archeological sites which could be disturbed by construction and operation of the transmission line vill be provided in Dece=ber 1976.

Endangered Species, Questions 1. 2 and 3 Consumers Power Company vill not begin construction of transmission line facilities between the Midland Plant and the Tittabavassee Substation, or between the Tittabavassee Substation and Kencva/Thetford line until data from an ecological survey of the transmission line right-of-way are available.
