Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.55(e), Louisiana Power & Light Company hereby submits an Interim Report of Significant Deficiency No. 9 concerning the noncompliance to welding requirements for HVAC seismic support hagger to embedded plates. This incident was previously identified with the USNRC on July 11, 1978 and was categorized as potentially reportable. This incident is now considered to be reportable. A final report is scheduled to be submitted on or before December 31, 1978 by which time the engineering evaluation will be complete and any required corrective action will be underway.
