Dear Mr. Novak:
South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN-499 Schedule for Submittal of Response to Generic Letter 81-07, Control of Heavy Loads In our letter of December 18, 1981, Houston Lighting & Power Company (HL&P) had comnitted to provide additional information in response to Generic Letter 81-07 (NUREG 0612 " Control of Heavy Loads at Nuclear Power Plants")
by September 1, 1982. Owing to the level of effort which has been applied to transfer the engineering responsibility from Brown & Root to Bechtel, our response to 81-07 has been delayed.
We intend to provide our response no later than December 15, 1983 and regret any inconvenience to the NRC caused by our not having communicated our need to reschedule sooner.
If you should have any questions concerning this matter, please contact Mr. Michael E. Powell at (713)877-3281.
V ry truly yours,
, I' l J.H. Goldberg Vice President Nuclear Engineering & Construction MRW/aa To /
