APPLICANT'S RESPONSE TO MARY SINCLAIR'S REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL TIME By letter dated August 23 Intervenor Mary Sinclair has requested an extension of more than two weeks, until September 13, 1982, to file new contentions based on any 1
new information in the Final Environmental Statement.
Applicant objects to this request since Intervenor Sinclair has not shown good cause for such delay.
Vacation plans do not outweigh the obligation of all parties to comply with schedules established by this Board.
Moreover, Ms. Sinclair now has an attorney, experienced in NRC proceedings, who certainly a
could have drafted timely contentions based on the FES with only minimal guidance from Ms. Sinclair.
Under the circumstances, Intervenor Sinclair's request for additional time should be denied.
Such a ruling would of course not bar Ms. Sinclair from submitting contentions based on the FSS, but such contentions will have to be judged in accordance with the standards for late-filed 8209100228 820030 gDRADOCK05000
