SOCIETY FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT OF SCUTHEASTERN NEW HAMPSHIRE SUPPLEMENTAL PETITION FOR LEAVE TO INTERVENE Pursuant to 10 CFR 2.714 (b) , the Society for the Protection of the Environment of Southeastern New Hampshire (hereinafter called Society) submits the following reworded contention as requested by the Nuclear Regulatory Cbmmission Licensing Board.

Contention B: The operation of the transmission lines violates Code of Federal Regulations, Title 10, Energy, Chapter 1 - Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Part 2, App. A, VIII (b) (3) (i) "Whether there is reasonable assurance,(i) that the activities to be authorized by

~the operating license can be conducted without endangering the health and safety of the public....." in that the electro-magnetic fields set up by the double and single transmission lines cause rad-iation which endangers the health and safety of people who inhabit dwellings near the operating transmission lines. Recent articles indicate that electro-magnetic radiation can effect the cardio-vascular system, hemotology, bio-chemistry, genetics, neuro physio-logy and other functions of the human body. The applicant has not
