This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition reported under the requircments of 10TR50.55(e).

As noted in the previous interim report, QA-1783 dated May 26, 1982, a review of inspection records of electrical cable tray hangers on various elevations of the Auxiliary Building, revealed that inspections performed by sme inspectors did not properly assess field welds for empliance with AWS inspcx: tion requirments and were not in cmpliance with procedure re-quirements.

A Management Corrective Action Peport was initiated forevaluation and assessment of electrical cable tray hanger inspections previously performed. Evaluationand assessment of corrective action has been ecm-pleted. Henry J. Kaiser Cmpany (HJK), the principal constructor, will rein-spect 100% of all accessible cable tray hanger field weids to the current requirments, except for those in the main control rocm, which will be inspected by CG&E to the current requirements.

In addition, CG&E will per-form dual inspection or inspection surveillance, of IUK reinspection at the time of IUK's reinspection. The results of this reinspection and rework required will be evaluated to determine the further corrective action to be performed for those field welds which are inaccessible due to fire-proofing or physical constraints. New documentation will be generated to detail the inspection results. This reinspection is expected to be empleted by Deceber 31, 1982, at which time a final report will be subnitted.
