, yay.~' possible. Litigation of the pending update has taken longer than expected. By the time testimony is submitted, it will have been three years since the last substantive update of the estimate prepared by TLG Engineering, Inc. in 1991. In that time, there have been improvements in decommissioning methodology and lessons learned from studies and plans prepared for decommissioned plants such as Trojan.

North Atlantic, therefore, proposes to submit an update of the Seabrook Station decommissioning study and funding schedule in accordance with the following schedule:

Ey March 31, 1994, c report from the fund's Investment Consultant, providing a summary of the actual performance and investment experience of the fund in 1993.

By May 31, 1994, a joint report from the State Treasurer and North Atlantic, as required by Section 10.01E of the Seabrook Nuclear Decommissioning Fund Master Trust Agreement, setting forth an estimate of inflation, future fund earnings, and the progress of the fund toward achieving its stated goals.

By May 31, 1994, an update of the decommissioning study by TLG Engineering, Inc.;

this update will incorporate improvements to TLG's methodology since the last major revision in 1991.

By May 31, 1994, a review of the inflation and earnings assumptions, and the proposed revised funding schedules.

Respectfully requesting an order authorizing this proposal, North Atlantic is prepared to meet with the l Committee and the parties to discuss it.
