Dear Mr. Carr:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act on behalf of The Miami Herald and John Arnold, one of its reporters.

We are requesting copies of NRC correspondence, memos, reports, etc. written in response to, or caused to be written by the specific Florida Power and Light Co. licensee event reports enumerated below.

The request is for any document including but not limited to studies, memos, reports, letters, PNOs, meeting minutes, correspondence with utilities and documents routed or written to NRR, AEOD, the Division of Licensing and I. and E. that relate to Florida Power and Light Turkey Point units three and four with respect to the following:

1. A licensee event report dealing with potential cracks in Lexan coil spools of General Electric Company type HFA relays dated Jan. 19, 1981. A second LER'on the subject is dated Feb. 3, 1981.

3. A licensee event report on foreign material found in the 3B '

steam generator dated April 1, 1981.

4. A licensee event report on a reactor trip dated April 21, 1981.

Event date, March 22, 1981.

S. A licensee event report on a reactor trip dated August 27, 1981.

Event date, July 28, 1981.

6. A licensee event report dealing with NBFD relays manufactured by Westinghouse dated October 28, 1981.
7. A licensee event report on the overpressurization of Turkey Point unit four dated December 28, 1981. Event date, November 28, 1981.
8. A licensee event report on the loss of electrical service and reactor trips at both units three and four. Event date April 29, 1982.

As you know, the amended act provides that if some parts of a file are exempt from release that " reasonably segregable" portions shall be provided. I therefore request that, if you determine that some portions of the requested information are exempt, you provide me immediately with a copy of the remainder of the information. I, of course, reserve my right to appeal any such

- decisions.

If you determine that some or all of the information is exempt from release, I would appreciate your advising me as to which exemption you believe covers the material which you are not releasing.

I am prepared to pay reasonable costs for locating the requested material and reproducing it.

The amended act permits you to reduce or waive the fees if it "is in the public interest because furnishing the information can be considered as primarily benefiting the public."
