S0lHit TEXAS PROJECT ELECTRIC GENERATING STATION RESPONSE TO NRC INSPECTION FINDINGS DOCKET NOS. 50-498/81-29 and 50-499/81-29
Dear Mr. Seyfrit:
In response to the notice of violation relating to Inspection Report, Nos. 50-498/81-29 and 50-499/81-29 dated September 8, 1981, " Failure to Follow Procedure for Recording Vision Examination," the following is submitted.
Procedure No. ST-QAP-2.1, entitled " Quality Assurance Personnel Develop-ment" and Procedure No. ST-QAP-2.3, entitled " Site Quality Assurance and Qualily Control Inspector Certification," require that the examiner for vision examinations designate on attachment ST-QAP-2.1B, " Vision Examination Record" whether or not the individual being examined has corrected or uncorrected vision. Several instances were found where inconsistencies existed in docu-menting the corrected or uncorrected condition of the individual being examined.
The following corrective actions have been or will be performed to comply with the requirements as addressed above.

CORRECTIVE STEPS h'llICilIIAVE BEEN TAKEN In all cases where inconsistencies were found in documenting the condition (corrected or uncorrected) of eye examinations, the individual involved has been reexamined, or a memo was placed in the individual's file indicating the condition (corrected or uncor-rected) at the time of examination.

' letter issued from the' Brown 6_ Root QA Manager to-the Brown 6-Root Safety Supervisor-specifically delineating the Safety:
Department's responsibilities with regard to the eye examina-tion'of QA/QC personnel. A revision to attachment ST-QAP-2.1B has been implemented.in order te aid the Safety Department in determining _whether an individual being examined has corrected or. uncorrected vision..
III. DATE WHEN-FULL COMPLIANCE WILL:BE ACHIEVED Full compliance was achieved on October 1, 1981.
