This letter is in response to your letter of February 25, 1 M 1, which forwarded preliminary results of the '!RC's staf f review of information provided by Philadelphia Electric Company concerning the environmental qualification of safety related electriccl equipment at Peach Eottom Atomic Power Stntion (PDA P").
Your letter required, in part, that wa provida a written s t a t em a n t supporting tha safe operation of our facility, that takas into account the "RC staff's preliminary list of potential deficiencies.
The purpose of this statement is to provide the
'!RC with needed assurance ratarding the continued safety o f our facility until we can provide an item by item responsa to the preliminary review results.

Cetober 31, 1990, to IE Pulletin 79-01n and the preliminary list of potential deficiencies resulting from the current 'IRC partial review.

Therefore, the continued operation of PSAPS does not constitute an l
undue risk to public health and safety due to the failure, for environmental causes, of safety related electrical equipment wh ich wo ul d be required to mitiF,ata the consequences of a postulated accident.
