Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
On August 25, 1980, the ASME Council approved Code Case N-294 This code case permits the use of aluminum bronze SB-148 alloys 952 and 954 for coolers constructed under Section III, Division 1, class 2 subject to restric-tions outlined within the code case (see attached).
We request your further approval to use this material in the manufacture of the cleanable "H" bodies and nuts for the containment air cooling units for Alvin W. Vogtle Nuclear Plant-Units 1 and 2.
So that the vendor can neet production scheduling requirements we would appreciate a timely response.
Should any additional information be required, please advise.
