Dear Mr. Novak:
South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Response to Questions 482.1 and 482.2 In a letter dated June 7,1902, Mr. Frank J. Miraglia transmitted to Mr. George W. Oprea, Jr. several questions to be addressed prior to completion cf the Corrosion Engineering Section's review of Houston Lighting & Power Company's (HLF.P) South Texas Project operating license application.
In response to question 482.1, HL&P will develop and provide a secondary system chemistry control program document which will be supported by detailed operating procedures. These documents will contain all of the elements outlined in the request for information.
In response to 482.2, it is expected that the secondary system chemistry control program will be consistent with Westinghouse technical reconmendations. Significant deviations will be based on operating plant experiences and lessons learned from the EPRI/ Steam Generator Owners Group II activities.
The information requested will be provided no later than eighteen months prior to Unit 1 fuel loading.
Very truly yours, f
. H. 20 Vice President Nuclear Engineering and Construction SSR/kr 82O8170282 820806 l
