Dear Mr. Ahearne:

_,g.,

As a Duke Power employee-and as a member of Nuclear Energy Women, I would like to. express my support for the safe and orderly reopening of Three Mile Island - Unit 1.

From my research, I find that Unit 1 meets all the required NRC changes brought about by the ac'tQdent at TMI - Unit 2, and I see no reason why Unit 1 should not be Qlowed to operate again and make any remaining changes while operating, as other nuclear plants are doing across the country.

I am confident that the operators of TMI - Unit 1 are as capable as any other group of experienced operators and have benefited from all the lessons learned from Unit 2.

I strongly support nuclear power in this country.

I feel that not allowing Unit 1 at Three Mile Island to operate is both unjhstified and discriminatory, and I am hopeful that this situation will change,in the near future.

Thank you.

1 Sincerely, Debbie B.
