Dear Mr. Collins:

River Bend Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-458 Interim Report /DR-43 On March 29, 1982, Gulf States Utilities Company (GSU) notified the Nuc1 car Regulatory Commission Region IV Office of a condition potentially reportable under 10CFR50.55(c) concerning unsatisfactory inspections performed by a former Field Quality Control (FQC) inspector at River Bend Station (DR-43). Our reevaluation of the inspections performed by the former FQC inspector is continuing. An interim or final status report will be provided by September 30, 1982.
