Dear Ms. Harrison:
[ l This 3etter represents a noccompliance repor. as required by Part II, Paragraph A.2 of the above referenced Permit. b, b f On August 26 and 27, 1980, operating records revealed thr.t outfall 01B, the Cooling Tover Blovdown, had a pH reading o f 4.k and h.2 respect $ vely. Permit limits are 6.0 - 9 0. i Both noncompliance periods occurred during the early corn-ing hours and lasted for approximately 2 hours. The normal acid feed system, which is auto =stically con-t rolled, was out of service. The acid pu=ps in this sys-i tem have been experiencing a siphori g probje=. New check valves and new piping have been installed to alleviate this f problem. Acid was being fed to the tower manually using F L a temporary gravity feed cystem. The auto =atic syste= bas b been returned to service and is functioning nor: ally at f j this time.
