This will acknowledge receipt of the letter dated. June 24, 1982 from Mr. Bobby G. Rutledge, Director, Radiological Health Section.
We are pleased that your revised Rules and Regulations for Radioactive Materials became effective on July 12, 1982. The revision of these rules were necessary before a statement of adequacy and compatibility could be offered following our 1981 review of the Georgia radiation control program.
The responses received from Dr. Edwards and Mr. Rutledge following our review comments of March 3,1982 will be included in the staff's evaluation of your radiation control program.
I am pleased to inform you that, in the staff's opinion, the Georgia radiation control program for agreement materials is adequate to protect the public health and safety and compatible with that of the Commission.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact this office or my State Agreements Representative, Mr. Woodruff, at any time.
