Dear W. Kayner:

As you know, your October 2 letter addressed to Energy Secretary Decan has been referred to the Nuclear Regulatory Coundssion for reply. I presume the newscast you heard reported on a recent t

referendum in the State of Maine in which voters were asked to

^

detemine whether the Maine Yankee Nuclear Power Station should be permitted to continue in operation. The Maine Yankee facility cor.tinued to operate during the vote and is in operation today.

Sincerely.

Frank Ingram Assistant to the Director Office of Public Affairs 2.
