Decontamination and Decomissioning of the Multiple Failure, Plutonium f acility, and Waste Disposal Buildings, Nuclear Lake Site, Pawling, New York The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission staff reviewed the following reports in connection with the decontamination and decomissioning of the Nuclear Lake Site, Pawling, New York:

Addendum to the Final Pro.iect Report for the Decontamination and Decomissionina of the Plutonium Facility and Multiole Failure Buildina. Nuclear Lake. Pawlina. NY, October 1993, IES Document No.
160047, prepared and submitted by NES, Inc./IES on October 27, 1993.
A meeting was held on November 1,1993, between NRC staff (Tim Johnson, Dave Fauver and Sam Nalluswami) and Chevron's contractor NES/IES which was represented by Dennis Reisenweaver and Pat LaFrate. The purpose of the meeting was to clarify certain portions of the reports including some measurements and calculations.
The NRC staff reviewed the final survey data obtained by NES/IES for the Multiple failure Building and the Waste Disposal Building, and confirmatory survey data obtained by the Oak Ridge Institute for Science ard Education (0 RISE), presented in the draft report Confirmatory and Radioloaical Surveys of the Nuclear Lake Site. Pawlina. New York. October 1993. These data indicated that these two buildings had been remediated to radioactivity levels acceptable for unrestricted release.
Based on these reports, the NRC staff approves the demolition of the Multiple Failure and the Waste Disposal Buildings.
