Dear Mr. Denton:
South Carolina Electric and Gas Company, acting for itself and as agent for South Carolina Public Service Authority, herewith provides one (1) copy of the Colt Industries test report of 100 starts performed in August of 1971 on a prototype 12 cylinder PC-2 engine. Also attached is a copy of the Colt Industries test report of 230 starts performed in April of 1975 on a 12 cylinder PC-2 engine for Farley Nuclear Plant Unit #2 for Alabama Power Company. The results of the tests documented in these reports is provided as qualification of 12 cylinder PC-2 engines installed at V. C. Sumer Station.
In addition to these tests, Colt Industries has performed 300 start tests on a 14 cylinder PC-2 engine for Millstone Unit 3 and 300 start tests on a 14 cylinder PC-2 engine for Beaver Valley Unit 2.
Colt Industries has also performed 300 start tests on a PC-2.5 engine, which is a modified design of the PC-2 engine, for SNUPPS.
