On October 17, 1990, the Commission issued an order regarding various petitions for intorvention and requests for hearings concerning certain proposed amendments to the Shoreham operating license. Egg Lona Island 1
liahtina comoany (Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1), CLI-90-08, 32 NRC (Oct. 17, 1990).
The petitioners in that action have now moved for reconsideration of that order. Egg Joint Petition for. Reconsideration (Oct.
29,1990).. On November 9,1990, the State of New York (" State") filed a -
.motien for leave to file an Amj. qui curiae in opposition to the motion for
. reconsideration. The State also asked that-it be allowed:to file its. amicus pleading on November 26, 1990, due'toi(1) its recent notice of the Commission's order and the motion'for reconsideration.and:(2) previously scheduled vacations of the attorneys involved.o The petitioners.do not.
object to the State's request. The Staff and the:Long= Island Lighting:
Company ("LILC0"),- the-licensee, do not object to the filing of ~the amicus.:
