PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLAhT Dockets No. 50-282 and No. 50-306 In response to your letter of November 9,1978, which transmitted Inspection Reports 50-282/78-12 and 50-306/78-13, the following information is offered:
Deficiency Criterion V of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50 tequires that activities affecting quality shall be accomplished in accordance with instructions, procedures, or drawings. Quality Assurance Program implementing procedure No. 3ACD 4.1, Revision 4, Design Change, paragraph 6.1.2 states, an index of all Design Changes shall be maintained. The index shall contain at a minimum, the Design Change title, the Design Change number, the Responsible Organization and the status of the Design Change (approved, installed, completed).
Contrary to the above, the index of all Design Changes did not include the status of changes that had been installed.
Response
Thc Design Change Index Form (A), PINGP #340, has been revised to include the date of completion of installation.
Full compliance has been achieved.
In addition, Design Change Index Form (B), PINCP #341, has been revised to better index safety review requirements.
