SUBJECT:

Imposed Tax on Certain Huclear Activities The State of Washington enacted a law (S. 5030) which was signed by Governor Spellman on July 16, 1982 imposing a tax on certain nuclear activi ties. It becomes effective August 1,1982. The law imposes a tax of 0.25% on gross proceeds of sales of nuclear fuel assemblies; a tax of 0.25% of the value of the product manufactured for manufacturers of fuel assemblies; and a tax of 30% of the gross income of persons disposing of low-level waste.
