The following is provided in response to your request of June 24, 1982 for additional information on the above subject.

NRC Request A complete summary of each component outage in the diesel generator systems from December 1, 1977 through 1980 is requested.

For each outage, include the date, duration, and cause; the diesel generator train and component involved; and corrective action taken.

Include outages for surveillance testing and planned, unplanned, or preventive maintenance.

APCo Response In letter dated December 7, 1981 subject "Information Request Regarding Station Blackout Unresolved Safety Issue A-44,"

Alabama Power Company (APCo) provided to the NRC the above requested summary.

During the period December 1,1977 through 1980 the following diesel generators were surveillance tested approximately once a month with an average testing period of 60 minutes.

For each outage, include the date, duration, and cause; the component and train involved; and the corrective action taken.

Where actual data are not available, estimates of the outage time due to testing should be substituted.

APCo Response In letter dated January 14, 1981, subject "Farley Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2, NUREG-0737 Response," APCo provided to the NRC a listing of the ECCS equipment outages for Unit I since December 1,1977 in which the systems were required to be operable in accordance with Technical Specifications.

In addition, surveillance testing which required equipment to be taken out of service was performed on the below listed ECCS
