Report to NRC on Torus Ring Beam Weld Indications The indications that were observed on the torus ring beam No. 9 were reported to the NRC Region III on October 3, 1978 as reportable under paragraph 50.55(e) of Code of Federal Regulations, Title 10.
As you know, 30 days from the date of notification, Edison is required to sub-mit a report identifying the magnitude of the problem, corrective action and the safety, implications. At this time, our investigation is still underway and sufficient data is not yet available to generate such a report.
Therefore, please submit the attached Engineering Interim Report that provides the statas of our investigation, and identifies our planned actions. At the end of the next 30 days inter-val, a completed report or another progress report will be made avail-able for your transmittal to the NRC.
