The Commission was briefed by the Chairman and the Executive Director for Operations on the FY 1982-1985 NRC budget estimates.
l The review covered an overview, regional operations, reactor regulations, material safety and safeguards, and inspection and enforcement.
The Chairman noted that_the EDO plans to present by September, 1982 or earlier a staffing plan covering the planned staff level changes.

The Commission asked staff to request of OMB a waiver to exceed the FY 1982 FTE ceiling.

(RM) t The Chairman requested that the Commission be given quarterly reviews of budget activity and program plans.

Commissioner Gilinsky requested a breakdown of the contract funds for program support, between national laboratories and other contractors (competitive and non-competitive).
