STATUS OF COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT ACT (CZMA)

CONSISTENCY CERTIFICATION By letter dated October 15, 2018 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML18291A842), Virginia Electric and Power Company (Dominion Energy Virginia or Dominion) submitted an application for the subsequent license renewal of Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-32 and DPR-37 for Surry Power Station (SPS) Units 1 and 2, respectively.

In an email from Tam Tram, NRC, to Daniel G. Stoddard, Dominion, dated February 5, 2020 the NRC requested additional information regarding the SPS SLRA Environmental Review. The request for additional information (RAI) was related to a Conditional Concurrence finding on Dominion's application for CZMA consistency certification issued by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ). The conditions relate to concerns raised by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF) regarding measures to minimize impacts to fishery resources from operation of the cooling water intake at SPS. A due date of no later than March 5, 2020 was requested for submittal of the response to the RAI.

Dominion has been working with VDEQ and VDGIF with the goal of obtaining a revised CZMA consistency determination letter from the VDEQ. At this time, discussions are still in progress and Dominion cannot anticipate when a revised CZMA consistency
