Dear Mr. MacDonald:
As suggested in your letter of June 15, 1982, we are requesting that an amendment be issued to the Certificates of Compliance and Compentent Authority assigned to our package:
Identification No. USA /9006/B(U)T.
The amendment should incorporate authorization for using the drum-overpack when the Model 500-SU Source Changer contains two (2) sealed sources of Iridium-192 or for certain other shipments of Iridium-192 that would necessitate the use of the overpack to reduce surface radia-tion levels below the 200 MR/HR maximum. We feel that the application requirement of 10CFR 71.21 have previously been satisfied by engineering drawings, test data and photos which are presently on file with your office.
