Cintichem has completed the repairsL to. the O Canal and Gamma Pit sections. of the' reactor - primary water ' systems described in the..above referenced ~ correspondence..

The system has been1 filled with water-and leak tested.

The, referenced letters indicate, a : normal. operating. water level of.- 12 feet.iin the Canal and Gamma' Pit : sections.L. Cintichem has. decided'to operate at a level of 10' feet of water and has performed leak tests at this level which meet the leak test criteria set down in, Repairof i

Canal' and -Gamma Pit Specifications 90-03,- (see Ref. a).'

The current technical specifications on.. water :levelL are based' on maintaining a minimum hydraulic head above, the. operating coreJand keeping containment of the reactor building while -- the reactor. is-operating.

The reactor has~ been defueled: and there 'is no intent to resume operation.

The only purposei for : maintaining. water-levels
