ORDER PROHIBITING INVOLVEMENT IN CERTAIN NRC-LICENSED e
ACTIVITIES (EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY)
This is to inform the Commission that an Order Prohibiting Involvement in certain NRC - Licensed Activities (Effective Immediately) will be issued today to George D. Shepherd.
This order is based on Mr. Shepherd's deliberate failure to wear an alarm ratemeter, to fully post the restricted area during radiographic operations, and to perform a proper survey following each exposure.
The Order prohibits Mr. Shepherd from engaging in licensed activities for an NRC licensee or an Agreement State licensee while conducting activities within NRC jurisdiction for a period of two years.
The Order also requires for the two years following the initial two-year prohibition period that Mr. Shepherd provide a copy of the Order to any person engaged in licensed activities with whom he accepts employment and notify the NRC of accepting employment in licensed activities during the same period.
This action was approved by the Commission in an SRM dated October 25, 1993.
Under the terms of the Order, Mr. Shepherd may, within 30 days of the date of the Order, request a hearing.
All states will be notified.
