A Narrative Summary of Ooerating Experience for 1993 The University of Washington Nuclear Reactor did not operate during 1993. The core was unloaded in September 1988. The reactor fuel has been shipped to the -

Idaho Chemical Processmg Plant.

Unscheduled Shut Downs With no operations for the year, there were no unscheduled shut downs to report.

Corrective and Preventive Maintenance Having Safety Significance Routine calibrations and maintenance as scheduled.

Radioactive Releases to the Environs Durinn 1991

1. There were no releases above background via stack to the atmosphere.
2. There were no releases to the sanitary sewer during this reporting period.

Environmental Surveys Outside the Facility

1. Survey meter surveys of retention tank area gave background readings.
2. Data were collected by NES/IES for site characterization. The University of Washington has not received data as of report date. Data will be included in the decommissioning plan when it is presented to the NRC.

SigniEtant Exoosures (over 500 mrem for year)

During 1993 there were no signi.ficant exposures,i.e., over 500 mrem, from January through November. December data were not available at report time, but no incidents occurred in December that would lead to excess personnel exposures.
