Dear Mr. Katz:
During our teleconference of August 4,1993, and in subsequent correspondence and phone calls, the staff committed to respond to the concerns raised by the Citizens Awareness Network (CAN) during the teleconference.
Responding to these concerns requires significant work on the part of the NRC staff so that it is necessary to delay our response beyond the early January date that we had originally estimated. We now believe that our analysis of the concerns you have raised will be complete and a response provided to CAN within two months.
