NRC Requests for Additional Information (RAls) on the Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (SBWR) Design

Reference:

Transmittal of Recuests for Additional Information (RAls) for the SBWR Design, Letter from M. Millov to P. W. Marriott dated January 5,1994.

We have received your reference letter transmitting 98 RAls which requested extremely short turn-around (responses) back to NRC. In order to be responsive to your request, we are using the SBWR/ABWR Similarities document, NEDC-32231, to reference previously supplied ,

answers on ABWR RAls. With that consideration, we expect to be able to answer 27 of the RAls as requested by January 31,1994. There are 12 questions which focus on plant reliability / availability as effected by non-safety equipment / systems; these questions will be answered when the SBWR Regulatory Treatment of Non-Safety Systems (RTNSS) analysis is completed mid-to-late this year. The remaining 59 questions wil be answered by March 31,1994.
