Pursuant to- Section 50.90 of the -regulations; of the.U.S.

Nuclear' Regulatory Commission, Duquesne -Light Company hereby- 'j requests that the Technical. Specifications set forth in Appendix A1 -

to this license. be! amended to- temporarily reduce the required ,

number of operable incore detector thimbles from.75%'to 50%;for  ;

the remainder of cycle 8. l The proposed' Technical Specification changes are set forth;in Attachment A to this Application. .A Safety Analysis.and'Ho-Significant Hazard Evaluation is set forth in' Attachment LB.

Replacement. pages.- for the Technical Specifications are contained' in Attachment C.

Based on the guidance provided by the Commission, the proposed I changes have been determined' to involve no significant hazards consideration in accordance with 10 CFR 50.92.-

L WHEREFORE, Applicant respectfully. requests that' Appendix A to this Operating License .be amended in the~ form attached hereto as-Attachment A.
