GENERIC ISSUE MANAGEMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - FOURTH QUARTER FY-93 UPDATE Enclosed is the Fourth Quarter FY-93 update of the Generic Issue Management Control System (GIMCS) for your information. This report reflects the following major activities that occurred during the reporting period.

Three generic safety issues (GSIs) were resolved:

Availability of Chilled Water Systems and 4

Room Cooling HF4.4 (HIGH)

Guidelines for Upgrading Other Procedures r

I.D.3 (MEDIUM)

Safety System Status Monitoring (2)

Four GSIs were prioritized:

146 (RESOLVED) Support Flexibility of Equipment and Components 159 (DROP)

Qualification of Safety-Related Pumps While Running on Minimum Flow 160 (DROP)

Spurious Actions of Instrumentation Upon Restoration of Power 162 (DROP)

Inadequate Technical Specifications for Shared Systems at Multiplant Sites When One Unit Is Shutdown 0400n s

OCT 3 S 1993 Seventeen GSIs remain to be resolved including five that are scheduled for resolution in the First Quarter of FY-94. There are five issues that remain to be prioritized with four of these scheduled for completion during the First Quarter of FY-94. I will continue to keep you informed of progress in resolving these issues as well as any major problems that might surface during the course of their resolution.
