Mr. David K.

Lacker Chief Bureau of Radiation Control Texas Department of Health 1100 West 49th Street Austin, Texas 78756-3189

Dear Mr. Lacker:

I understand that you are retiring as Chief of the Texas Bureau of Radiation Control.

On behalf of the Commission, I want to thank you for the many years you have devoted to fostering positive working relationships between the State of Texas and the NRC, and for so capably devoting most of your professional life to the protection of the public health and safety.

Texas and the NRC have been fortunate that you chose a career in radiation control.

As Chief of the Bureau of Radiation Control in Texas and in the many positions you held at the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, Inc.,

including Chairman, you served your state and the country well, and we at NRC are particularly proud to have worked with you.

We appreciated your candid opinions and the insights you shared with us often at NRC meetings and workshops.

I can assure you that you are held in the highest regard by everyone at the NRC who has been associated with the Texas Agreement State Program.

For my Commission colleagues and nembers of the NRC staff who were fortunate to have known and worked with you, I want to extend our best wishes for your future success and happiness.

Sincerely, 3
