Dear Mr. Hickey:

I am an avid supporter of continuing peaceful uses of i

nuclear energy in the United States, especially for electric power production and for medical purposes.

I encourage research and devalopment aimed at the next generation of nuclear power plants, and am convinced that in the future, the nuclear option

" politically favorable" option for power will again be a generation.

I have reviewed selected excerpts and conclusions from the i

Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) on construction and operation of the proposed Claiborne Enrichment Center, to be located within the Claiborne Parish in Northern Louisiana.

I strongly support construction and operation of this facility as at is currently planned, using centrifuge technology to enrich natural and low-enrichment uranium to a level whose U-235 content is suitable for use as fuel in nuclear power plants.

I encourage the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to support the findings of the DEIS regarding the Claiborne Enrichment Center.

Very Truly You Ac Sf'./
