Visit to the PANTHERS full-scale isolation condenser test facility for the SBWR design and discussions with GE and SIET test engineers on test program issues. Visit to the SPES-2 full-height, high-pressure integral test facility for the AP600 design. See the enclosure for the proposed agenda.

GE Nuclear Energy (GE) to provide a presentation on PANTHERS test program for SBWR design certification, including a description of test program and its purpose, current status, test matrices, and latest test and submittal schedules.

9:00 - 9:15 a.m.

Break 9:15 a.m. - 12:00 Noon Tour of PANTHERS test facility and observation of ongoing shakedown

  • esting. Topics for discussion during the visit to the facility will include:

1.

How the facility shakedown testing is being performed and how GE will ensure that quality assurance is maintained before, during, and after the testing.

In addition, submittals and schedules will be discussed.

2.

Adequacy of facility for meeting GE's stated goals.

3.

Adequacy of instrumentation (type and location) to meet code requirements.

Instrument calibration procedures, ranges, and go/

no-go criteria for tests.

4.

Preparation of written test procedures. The NRC representative will look at a representative sample of these procedures.

5.

Test termination / success criteria.

Test facility staffing.

7.

Test data recording equipment, data processing, and data qualifica-4 tion.

Visit to the SPES test facility (where testing in support of the AP600 design certification is being performed). Topics of discussion will be similar to Items I through 7 listed above for observation of PANTHERS shakedown testing.
