ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS - EDWIN I. HATCH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 (TAC NOS. M84635, M84636, M84730, AND M84731)

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.190 to Facility Operating License DPR-57 and Amendment No.129 to Facility Operating License NPF-5 for the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2.

The amendments consist of changes to the Technical Specifications (TS) in response to three applications dated September 21, 1992; October 14, 1992, as supplemented January 15, March 26, and July 30, 1993; and May 3, 1993, as supplemented October 5, 1993.

In your May 3, 1993, letter, you requested that the three proposed revisions be issued by the NRC staff as a single license amendment for each unit of Plant Hatch.

The amendments (1) relocate the procedural details contained in the Radiological Effluent TS, (2) incorporate the new Part 20 requirements, and (3) revise the frequency of reporting radiological effluent releases.

A copy of the related Safety Evaluation is also enclosed.

A Notice of-Issuance will be included in the Commission's biweekly Federal Reaister notice.
