Nblf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (NCNOC) had five positive chemical substance screens, 3 drug and 2 alcohol, during the i period January 1,1990 through June 30, 1990. 'Ibese positive tests involved- i 4 individuals. :'Ibe individual who tested positive on the pre-employment  !

test was denied any further consideration for enployment. .'Ihe contractors who tested positive on their pre-badging tests were denied unescorted access and ware also not permitted to work for NCNOC.

Initiatives taken. 'Ibe Fitness for Duty (FFD) Frepan undarwent significant improvement during the first.six months of 1990. 'Ihree policies which  !

originally contained the FFD k@mu were ocnsolidated into one i cupidwnsive policy to unke FIT m; utic elements easier to access; a

  • new Access Screening group was formed in Human Resources to consolidate FFD administratica under one work grcup; division level gc-- bres were developed to provide better guidance to collection site pesci m l; and databases holding FFD data were enhanced to provide interface with badging databases in order to ensure that persons requesting ACADe had been screened  !
