I wish to comment on the proposed Claiborne Enrichment Facility (CEF) and on the draf t Environmental Impact Statement currently under review.

i I believe this facility is a necessary step in the attempt to i

reduce our dependance on foreign suppliers of vital materials. ne.

domestic market for the product of the CEF clearly exists, and our utilization of such a facility would be an 'important step in J

safeguarding our nation's electricity supply from the uncertainties -

of foreign markets.

I have read the draft, Environmental Impact Statement and found it to be a straightforward declaration that construction and operation of the CEF would have minimal negative i', pact on the area and substantial positive impacts.

I urge you to support the findings of the draft Environmental Impact Statement and to expedite the licensing of the CEF.
