Greenpeace is greatly concerned to hear that you have refused the people of.Claiborne Parish, Louisiana their request for an extension on the period to prepare comments on the Draft Environmental' Impact Statement for the proposed Louisiana Energy Services uranium enrichment facility. The citizens whose lives will be at risk from this plant deserve the right to' adequate time to thoroughly review and comment on the document that will be used to justify its placement in their backyards. It is totally unreasonable-for you to expect them to be able to fully analyze and respond to the DEIS' 40+ pages of findings in ^5 days that include the holiday season.
We strongly urge that you grant the 90 day extension that they request. Please inform me promptly of your decision and your reasons.
